Thanks to support from the Ford Motor Company Fund, the Detroit Area Agency on Aging spearheaded the delivery of Thanksgiving meals to 5000 homes in Metro Detroit where older adults are residing. It took a village – including the DAAA team, food vendor TRIO Foods, transportation vendor, volunteers and many others – to make it all happen.
Kickoff to 2026
On August 20, the annual Strides for Seniors was launched at St. Pat Senior Center - featuring a yard sale, DJ Tim and dancing, and a lunch of Detroit favorites like Coney Dogs, Boston Coolers and Better Made Chips. The September long campaign promotes our neighborhood senior centers, powered by Detroit Area Agency on Aging, Detroit Parks & Rec and St. Pat. Here's a 60 second video of the excitement.
