2020: Bridging Communities Sponsors Alley Mural Project

On Sunday, Sept 13, volunteers gathered to paint a mural depicting the statement “Revolutionary Love,” chosen by a group of intergenerational community members as an expression of what is needed in this time. Sponsored by Bridging Communities of Southwest Detroit, the artwork will stretch 170 by 20 feet – helping connect two parks and three community organizations, all located within a couple blocks of each other near McGraw and Martin. Besides Bridging Communities – which has served the neighborhood since 1980 – the other two organizations are Brilliant Detroit (www.brilliantdetroit.org) and the Detroit Police Athletic League gym.
