On July 23 and 24, the beautifully renovated Hannan Center hosted Summer Fest – a great change to tour the facility – including the Kayrod Gallery, Black Box Theatre, Podcast Studio, and DayBreak (a program for older adults living with dementia).
The event was sponsored by HAP, and there were also special workshops and screenings open to attendees, including
- Intro to Creative Writing
- Creative Aging Class Highlights
- Ageism: Changing the Narrative
- Medicare 101 with HAP
- Caregiving/Dementia 101 with the Alzheimer’s Association
- Food as Medicine
- Memory and Depression Screenings
Add in some book signing, refreshments and a chance to meet the EMERGE! Artists, it was an amazing two days!
We’ll be coming back to Hannan during “Strides for Seniors.” Meanwhile, please follow the center on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=hannan%20center
