While many services are suspended or offered only online, we look forward to the day when all of Detroit’s centers will be fully open again, with programs and activities all in full swing. Awhile back, some folks at St. Patrick Senior Center talked on video about what the center means to them. Their words could easily apply to any of the 13 centers in this year’s Strides for Seniors, which collectively serve thousands of Detroiters.
Kickoff to 2026
On August 20, the annual Strides for Seniors was launched at St. Pat Senior Center - featuring a yard sale, DJ Tim and dancing, and a lunch of Detroit favorites like Coney Dogs, Boston Coolers and Better Made Chips. The September long campaign promotes our neighborhood senior centers, powered by Detroit Area Agency on Aging, Detroit Parks & Rec and St. Pat. Here's a 60 second video of the excitement.
